Illustrations assume a hypothetical average annual return, compounded monthly. Past performance does not guarantee future results; investing involves risk.
This fall, fifty Dallas students become the pioneer Owners — the first to earn a stake, watch it grow, and carry it into adulthood. These are their stories.
I always thought investing was a rich-people thing. The day I logged in and saw my own account, that idea disappeared. This is mine forever, and I am going to make it grow.
When I saw what $5 a week can do, I made it happen. Like they said, my money is working for me.
Passing the test felt bigger than any other grade. I earned that account. I didn’t really understand what a stock was, but now I am an investor.
My whole crew did the course together. We still text each other when the market goes down — like, “stay calm, we’re in this for years.” It changed how we talk about money.
I’m in college now and the report still shows up every quarter. It’s a little reminder that someone believed in my future before I even did.
The Ownership Project changed the way I think about the future. Things that used to seem impossible for me are now goals I am going to make happen.

One semester of learning. One real account. And a team that stays beside you until age 25.
Finish a 6-module course on how money really works — compounding, automation, index funds, the psychology of wealth — and pass a 50-question certification exam. If you show up and engage, you’ll pass.
The moment you’re certified, $1,000 is invested in a protected account in your name — in an S&P 500 index fund, growing safely until you’re 25.You are an Owner.

After a personal coaching series, you take full ownership of a real, compounding asset — with a dollar-for-dollar match up to $1,000 if you choose to keep it invested and growing.
The just keep livin’ pillars pair your growing account with the character to sustain it.
Delayed gratification, routine, and trusting the process — the same psychological muscles required for long-term investing, expressed as automated $5/week contributions that never miss a deposit.
Mental health and self-worth — reframing wealth as care, not greed, and dissolving the fear and anxiety many students have inherited around money.
Community and moral stewardship — wealth held until 25 teaches students to serve their future self, their family, and the generation behind them.
In July 2026, the federal government began opening investment accounts with $1,000 for America’s newborns. This is a phenomenal initiative and proof the country now believes what we believe: ownership changes lives. The Ownership Project proudly extends that same promise to today’s teenagers, and adds the education that makes it last a lifetime.
“Every seed grows best with a gardener. We bring the education, the habits, and years of steady encouragement that turn a funded account into a lifelong owner.”
Every certified student becomes their family’s guide to the national program — helping eligible younger siblings claim their own $1,000 accounts. One student can bring ownership to an entire household. That’s how a movement compounds.
Whether you’re earning your stake, leading a school, cheering someone on, or funding change — there’s a place for you here.
Earn a real certification, receive a real $1,000 investment in your name, and watch it grow alongside you — through college, first jobs, and into your twenties. Ownership starts with you.

Sponsor a student →“This isn’t charity — it’s architecture. We’re engineering the first financial asset these students have ever owned.”
For decades, we taught young people what the stock market is — without giving them a piece of it. Knowledge without a stake rarely changes a life. So we pair the knowledge with the asset: a real account, a real habit, and years of steady encouragement — and an ownership mindset takes root in a generation that has never had the opportunity.
Straight answers for students, families, schools, and the donors who make it possible.
Yes. The moment you pass The Simple Test, $1,000 is invested in a protected account with you as its one and only beneficiary. It grows in your name, and full ownership transfers to you at age 25. It cannot be taken back — it’s yours alone.
Time is the whole magic of this program. Holding your account through the most unpredictable years protects your head start and lets compounding do the heavy lifting — the earlier you own, the more you own. Starting at 24, you’ll get a personal coaching series so your decision at 25 is a confident, informed one.
We’re proud to build alongside them. That landmark initiative is opening seeded investment accounts for America’s newborns — the very idea we’re built on, now embraced nationally. The Ownership Project extends the same opportunity to today’s teenagers, and adds the certified education and years of personal follow-through that help ownership last a lifetime. Our students even help their eligible younger siblings enroll — so one family can be lifted by both.
Each student’s investment is held in a Crummey Trust — a well-established minor’s trust — with the student as sole beneficiary, administered by the program’s financial and legal team. We chose this structure because it holds the account safely to age 25 and provides tax-efficient, long-term capital-gains treatment, making it a natural complement to the national accounts’ age-18 design. Funds are invested in an S&P 500 index fund. At graduation, we also coach every certified student on opening a personal account of their own — so both can grow side by side.
Yes — just like the national accounts, yours welcomes gifts. Contributions from family, friends, and employers are invested right alongside your $1,000 and compound the same way. A birthday gift at 17 is still growing at 40.
Nothing, ever. Your investment and the program are funded entirely by donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors. There are no fees, no obligations, and nothing is ever sold to you or your family. Your data is protected in compliance with FERPA and COPPA.
An S&P 500 index fund — 500 of America’s leading companies. You own a piece of the American economy. No mainstream investment has built more wealth over the last hundred years: roughly 10% a year on average since 1926, with every 20-year holding period in its history ending in gains. It’s the same simple, proven approach the national children’s accounts use, and the same one we teach in the classroom. No stock-picking, no speculation. Steady, deliberately.
You take the keys — that’s the promise. And we make sure your moment is set up for success: years of quarterly updates so your account is familiar, a personal coaching series at 24, and a dollar-for-dollar match up to $1,000 if you choose to keep your balance invested. We turn a milestone into a launchpad.
You can retake it after a structured review with a program advisor. The exam is rigorous enough to mean something — that’s the point — but it is designed so that if you attend and engage, you will earn your certification.
The Ownership Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so gifts are tax-deductible. $1,000 funds exactly one student’s investment; $50,000 funds all fifty pioneer Owners. Seed capital is held in a restricted fund, separate from operations, and deployed only into student accounts. Sponsors receive updates as their students’ accounts — with permission — grow over time.
The country is ready. The model is built. The first Owners are enrolling. Every teen an owner isn’t a slogan — it’s a plan. Don’t just dream it. Own it with us.
Your gift is never an operating expense. It is invested directly into one student’s account — a tax-deductible contribution that compounds for decades and echoes through an entire family.
Whether you’re a student curious about the program, a school ready to partner, a parent with questions, or a donor ready to invest in the pioneer Owners — we’d love to hear from you.
